Buying a Mercury 25hp
Expect 57 to 72 kg, 126 to 159 lb dry, long shaft usual, electric start, tiller or remote, and external tank, power trim on some. Read the suffix: E is electric start, L is long shaft, PT is power trim, H is tiller. An ELPT is electric start, long shaft, power trim.
We do not hold a Mercury at this size on the floor, but the engine below can be sourced and delivered in seven to fourteen days.
Buying used at this size, the 25 class spans two and four strokes widely; the two strokes are much lighter but far thirstier.

Which shaft length do I need?
Measure vertically from the top of the transom to the lowest point of the hull. Fifteen inches takes a short shaft, twenty inches a long shaft, twenty five inches an extra long. Fitted right, the anti ventilation plate finishes level with the hull bottom. Send us a photograph with a tape measure in frame if you are unsure.
Does the price include controls and a propeller?
Remote steering engines are supplied without a control box or cables unless you add them, and engines from 40hp up ship without a propeller so it can be pitched to your hull. Both can go in the same crate, so there is no second freight charge.
