Used 2007 Yamaha F60 60HP Outboard for Sale
Buy a used Yamaha F60 60HP four stroke outboard for sale online, a 2007 engine on a 20 inch long shaft with electric start, remote steering and power trim and tilt. The F60 is one of the most durable engines Yamaha has built at this size, and it is the standard repower for 16 to 18 foot aluminum boats and small pontoons. Buying an F60 used is a low risk purchase: the design has been in service long enough that every weakness is documented, parts are available everywhere, and the engines routinely pass 3,000 hours. Order this Yamaha F60 from the page, or send the hull model and transom measurement and we will confirm the fit before you pay.
Supplied with
- Engine, cowling and mounting hardware, factory assembled
- Owner manual, warranty booklet and registration certificate
- Propeller not included on engines from 40hp up, pitched to order on request
- Remote control box, cables and rigging tube available as an add on
- First service kit available at checkout, oil filter and gear oil
Not sure on shaft length
Measure vertically from the top of the transom to the lowest point of the hull. Fifteen inches takes a short shaft, twenty inches a long shaft, twenty five inches an extra long. This engine is a long shaft, 20in.
Why the Yamaha F60 is a safe used buy
Some engines are worth buying used specifically because they have been around long enough to be fully understood, and the F60 is one of them.
It has been in production and in service long enough that the failure modes are documented, the aftermarket carries everything, and any Yamaha dealer has worked on one. There are no surprises left in it.
That is worth more on a used purchase than a newer design with a shorter track record, because what you are really buying is predictability.
Ask for compression on all four cylinders and the ECU hours. On an F60 those two numbers tell you almost everything.

What size boat takes a Yamaha 60HP outboard
Aluminum fishing boats from 16 to 18 feet, pontoons to about 20 feet, and small runabouts. Sixty horsepower gets a loaded hull on plane where a 50 has to work at it.
Check your capacity plate before ordering and aim within about ten percent of the maximum rating.
The other F60 in stock is the 2017 Yamaha F60 tiller, which is the same engine in a very different configuration.
Buying a 2007 Yamaha four stroke
Eighteen years is not old for a maintained Yamaha four stroke. These engines regularly run past 3,000 hours, and plenty of 2007 motors are still on working boats.
What matters is salt history and servicing. Look at the midsection, transom bracket and trim rams in the photographs, and ask whether it was flushed after saltwater use.
Browse the rest on Yamaha outboard motors.
What a Yamaha F60 repower actually costs
The engine is the headline number and rarely the whole bill, so it is worth setting out the rest before you order.
Controls and cables, if the boat is not already rigged for Yamaha. A propeller, pitched to your hull rather than carried across from the old engine. Gauges, if the existing ones cannot talk to the engine. And fitting, unless you are doing it yourself.
None of that is exotic and all of it is knowable in advance. Send us what is on the boat now, including a photograph of the helm, and we will list exactly what the installation needs.
It is a five minute conversation that turns a rough idea of the cost into a real one, and it is better had before the engine ships than after.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Yamaha F60 a reliable outboard?
It has one of the better records at this size. The design has been in service long enough that every weakness is documented and the aftermarket carries everything, which is exactly what you want on a used purchase.
How long does a Yamaha F60 last?
Routinely past 3,000 hours when serviced and flushed after saltwater use. At this size the engine usually outlasts the owner interest in the boat.
What size boat needs a Yamaha F60?
A 16 to 18 foot aluminum fishing boat, a pontoon to about 20 feet, or a small runabout. Check your capacity plate before ordering.
How many hours are on this F60?
The listing did not state a figure. We read it from the engine before shipping and will send you that reading with compression on every cylinder.
Is a 2007 outboard too old to buy?
Not for a maintained Yamaha four stroke. Eighteen years is mid life on an engine rated past 3,000 hours. Salt history and service records matter far more than the year.

Shipping and crating
The engine is bolted upright to a purpose built pallet, braced at the cowling and skinned before it leaves the warehouse. Crates are photographed on the dock and the photographs are attached to your order record.
Freight is curbside by default. The carrier calls ahead to arrange a delivery window, and you will need a second pair of hands or a tractor to take the crate off the truck. Liftgate service and delivery direct to an authorized dealer can both be added at checkout.
Standard transit is five to ten working days depending on zone, express is one to three. Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico are quoted separately.
| Destination zone | Freight on this engine | Transit |
|---|---|---|
| Standard freight | $100 | About a week |
| Express freight | $250 | 1 to 3 days |
