Used Suzuki 300HP Outboard for Sale
Buy a used Suzuki 300HP four stroke outboard for sale online, on a 25 inch extra long shaft with electric start, remote steering and power trim and tilt. Three hundred horsepower is offshore territory, where engines run hard for long hours and where the decision is as much about the next ten years of servicing as about the purchase. Suzuki competes here on price against Yamaha and Mercury, and at this output the difference is substantial rather than marginal. Ask us for the hour reading and compression figures before you order. Order it from the page, or send us the hull model, the transom measurement and what is on your helm now and we will work through rigging before anything ships.
Supplied with
- Engine, cowling and mounting hardware, factory assembled
- Owner manual, warranty booklet and registration certificate
- Propeller not included on engines from 40hp up, pitched to order on request
- Remote control box, cables and rigging tube available as an add on
- First service kit available at checkout, oil filter and gear oil
Not sure on shaft length
Measure vertically from the top of the transom to the lowest point of the hull. Fifteen inches takes a short shaft, twenty inches a long shaft, twenty five inches an extra long. This engine is an extra long shaft, 25in.
Buy a used Suzuki 300HP outboard
At 300 horsepower you are buying an engine that will be on the transom for a decade and will do real work in that time.
Suzuki argument at this size is straightforward. The engine is durable, the price is meaningfully below the market leaders, and the money saved covers a significant part of what a repower actually costs once controls, rigging and a propeller are in.
The counterargument is service. Offshore engines need attention, and the nearest Suzuki dealer may be further than the nearest Mercury one. Work out where yours is before you commit, because on a 300 that answer matters more than on a 60.

What boats run a 300HP outboard
Offshore center consoles from roughly 26 to 30 feet as a single, and very commonly as one of a pair on larger hulls.
If you are buying one of a pair, rotation and control architecture have to match what is already on the transom. Send us the details of the existing engine and we will check compatibility before anything ships.
Planning a 300HP repower
Controls and displays come first, and at this size they are usually digital. The control head, harnesses and gauges have to match the engine rather than be adapted to it.
Propeller is second, and it has to be pitched to the hull and the load rather than carried across from the old engine. Send us the boat and how you use it and we will pitch it properly.
Cross shop against the Yamaha 300HP and the Mercury Verado V8 300 before you settle.
What to confirm on this Suzuki 300HP before you pay
There are questions on this one that we would rather set out plainly than leave for you to find.
The photograph shows two engines on stands. The listing is for a single. Ask us to confirm exactly what is being sold and the serial number of the unit that ships.
The model year, hours and full DF designation are not stated in the listing and will be read from the engine.
Compression on all six cylinders, which we take before shipping.
And what rigging comes with it, which at 300 horsepower is a substantial part of the value.
We will answer all five in writing before anything is confirmed. On a purchase this size that is the minimum, not a favor.
Frequently asked questions
Is a Suzuki 300 as good as a Yamaha or Mercury 300?
As an engine it does the same job to a similar standard. The differences that matter are dealer coverage, where Mercury leads, and resale, where Yamaha leads. Suzuki leads on price, and at 300HP that gap is substantial.
What size boat needs a 300HP outboard?
Usually a 26 to 30 foot offshore center console as a single, or one of a pair on larger boats. Check the maximum rating on your capacity plate first.
What do I need besides the engine for a 300HP repower?
Digital controls and displays matched to the engine, a propeller pitched to your hull and load, and rigging. Send us the boat and what is on the helm now and we will list it before you order.
Is this Suzuki 300HP one engine or a pair?
The listing is for a single engine and the photograph shows two on stands. Ask us to confirm exactly what is on the pallet, and the serial number of the unit that ships, before you pay.
How is a 300HP outboard delivered?
Crated on curbside liftgate freight, quoted by weight and destination. It is a substantial shipment, so send your zip code for a quote before ordering.

Shipping and crating
The engine is bolted upright to a purpose built pallet, braced at the cowling and skinned before it leaves the warehouse. Crates are photographed on the dock and the photographs are attached to your order record.
Freight is curbside by default. The carrier calls ahead to arrange a delivery window, and you will need a second pair of hands or a tractor to take the crate off the truck. Liftgate service and delivery direct to an authorized dealer can both be added at checkout.
Standard transit is five to ten working days depending on zone, express is one to three. Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico are quoted separately.
| Destination zone | Freight on this engine | Transit |
|---|---|---|
| Standard freight | $100 | About a week |

Warranty
This used Suzuki is compression tested, run on the dyno and listed with its hour count and service history. It carries a ninety day parts and labor warranty from us unless the balance of factory cover runs longer.
Warranty work can be carried out at any authorized Suzuki dealer in the United States. You are not tied to us for servicing, and buying online does not shorten or void the factory cover.
The serial number on this listing, 11F-4192860, is the unit that ships to you. It appears on your invoice and on the warranty registration.
3 years, extendable to 6 years
Extended service cover can be added within the first year. Ask the sales desk to add it to your invoice.
