Used Yamaha Pair F300 300HP Outboard for Sale
Buy a matched pair of used Yamaha F300 outboards for sale online, twin 2017 300HP V6 four strokes on 30 inch shafts. Six hundred horsepower across two matched engines is the standard offshore repower for hulls in the low thirties, and buying both together is the only way to avoid the mismatched transom that catches out anyone who replaces one engine at a time. The 30 inch shafts mean these came off a tall transom or bracketed hull. Send us the boat, the transom height and your existing rigging and we will work through the fit before anything is confirmed.
Supplied with
- Engine, cowling and mounting hardware, factory assembled
- Owner manual, warranty booklet and registration certificate
- Propeller not included on engines from 40hp up, pitched to order on request
- Remote control box, cables and rigging tube available as an add on
- First service kit available at checkout, oil filter and gear oil
Not sure on shaft length
Measure vertically from the top of the transom to the lowest point of the hull. Fifteen inches takes a short shaft, twenty inches a long shaft, twenty five inches an extra long. This engine is an offshore shaft, 30in.
Twin F300 outboards: why the pair matters more than the price
Replace one engine on a twin rig and you own two boats stitched together. Different model years mean different electronics, different rigging standards and different wear, and the engines stop agreeing with each other at idle and at cruise.
A matched pair fixes it in one purchase. Same model, same year, same hours, one service schedule, one set of spares, and rotation already resolved between the two gearcases rather than hunted down separately.
Seven hundred hours across a pair is light for eight seasons of offshore use. Ask for compression across both engines and look hard at both midsections, because on a twin the two engines rarely wear identically no matter how matched they started.

What boats run twin Yamaha F300 outboards
Offshore center consoles and express hulls from roughly 30 to 36 feet. Six hundred horsepower is the rating for that size, and the second engine is as much about getting home as about speed.
Thirty inch shafts point at a tall transom or a bracketed installation, which is common on hulls in this size. Measure before you order, because on a twin an incorrect length is two mistakes rather than one.
Ordering a used pair of F300s
Matched pairs only reach the market when a whole boat is repowered or broken up, so they are the hardest configuration to find locally and the easiest to justify shipping.
Freight on two engines is quoted by weight and destination before you commit. Cross shop the 2018 Yamaha Pair 250HP if 500 horsepower suits your rating better, or the 2011 Yamaha Pair F350 for more.
Rigging an older pair of Yamaha F300s to a modern helm
These engines are from 2017, and whether that matters depends entirely on what your boat already has at the helm.
If the boat runs Yamaha controls and gauges of roughly that era, this pair drops in and the install is straightforward. If you have a modern digital helm, or you were planning one, there is an interface cost to add to the purchase price.
That cost is real but it is knowable. Send us a photograph of your helm and what is on the transom now and we will tell you what the installation needs before you order, rather than leaving you to find out in a yard.
On a pair it is worth doing that arithmetic first, because the rigging difference between an older and a newer set can outweigh the price difference between them.
Frequently asked questions
Is 700 hours high for a pair of Yamaha F300s?
No. Spread across eight seasons and two engines, that is light offshore use. On four strokes rated past 3,000 hours each, the great majority of the life is still ahead of them.
Why buy twin outboards as a matched pair?
Same model, same year, same hours means one service schedule, one set of parts and a transom that behaves consistently. Replacing one engine at a time leaves you with mismatched electronics and wear.
What size boat takes twin Yamaha F300 outboards?
Usually a 30 to 36 foot offshore center console or express hull rated for 600 horsepower. Check the capacity plate before ordering.
Why are these Yamaha F300s 30 inch shafts?
They came off a tall transom or bracketed hull, which is common at this size. Measure your own transom from the top down to the hull bottom at the centerline before you order, because on a pair a wrong length is two mistakes.
How is a pair of Yamaha F300s delivered?
Crated on curbside freight, quoted by weight and destination. Two engines cost more to ship than one, so send your zip code and we will quote the pair up front.

Shipping and crating
The engine is bolted upright to a purpose built pallet, braced at the cowling and skinned before it leaves the warehouse. Crates are photographed on the dock and the photographs are attached to your order record.
Freight is curbside by default. The carrier calls ahead to arrange a delivery window, and you will need a second pair of hands or a tractor to take the crate off the truck. Liftgate service and delivery direct to an authorized dealer can both be added at checkout.
Standard transit is five to ten working days depending on zone, express is one to three. Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico are quoted separately.
| Destination zone | Freight on this engine | Transit |
|---|---|---|
| Standard freight | $100 | About a week |
| Express freight | $250 | 1 to 3 days |
